Treatment

Trichomoniasis is usually spread through unprotected sex but it can also be spread by sharing sex toys.

Most men and women are treated with an antibiotic that is usually taken twice a day for 5 to 7 days. The whole course of antibiotics must be taken and you must avoid having sex until the infection clears up

If left untreated?

The symptoms will continue, even is you show no signs then you will still pass on the infection to a loved one.

If you are pregnant and catch Trichomoniasis then there is a risk that your baby will be born prematurely and have a low birth weight.
